That front is now stalled across South Alabama where clouds and some showers/storms remain in the forecast, while north of the front, most of us are dealing with tons of sunshine on this Thanksgiving Day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! A cold front is pushing through South Alabama this morning with a band of showers; drier air continues to filter into the northern counties of the state. For North/Central Alabama, today will be partly to mostly sunny with a high between 65 and 70 degrees. Showers will remain possible over the southern quarter of the state south of the front, but amounts there will be fairly light and spotty.

As of 3:50 pm, the line of showers and a few rumbles of thunder continue to move through the eastern and southeastern parts of Central Alabama with all of North Alabama dry at this point.
THIS AFTERNOON: A large mass of rain has been moving across Alabama today. Heavier showers are pushing into East and Southeast Alabama this afternoon with gusty winds, but there has been no severe weather so far today. The persistent rain has keep temperatures cool, and accordingly the airmass remains stable. We do note the sky is partially clearing this afternoon over the northwest part of the state.
At 228 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Shorter, or near Milstead, moving east at 35 mph.

At 152 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over eastern Montgomery, moving east at 35 mph.
At 110 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near White Hall, or 10 miles north of Mosses, moving east at 40 mph.
Brief winds gust of 35 to 45 mph will be possible along the back edge of an area of rainfall exiting the area. Motorists should be alert for sudden gusts of wind, particularly in high profile vehicles, and on north south running highways.
At 1116 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Mercedes Benz Of Alabama, or 15 miles east of Holt, moving east at 50 mph.
Through the morning hours, areas of moderate to heavy rain have been working across portions of the state and these appear to be stabilizing the atmosphere in locations they have already moved through.
Trout fishing season will open at Madison County Public Fishing Lake in Gurley and at Walker County Public Fishing Lake near Jasper on Friday, Nov. 27. Walker County Lake is closed through Nov. 26 for restocking of trout.
