Line of Showers Continues East

A line of showers and storms continues this afternoon from Hutsville to Jasper, through Fayette and Pickens Counties to between Columbus MS and Meridian MS.

The line is pushing slowly eastward while individual storms move ENE at 30 mph.

The heaviest activity is in Mississippi between Columbus and Meridian. It will reach Pickens and Sumter Counties in the hour, Tuscaloosa in two hours and Birmingham around 630 p.m.

That is if it holds together. The airmass overall is much drier over Alabama and showers have tended to weaken as they move into the state. Hopefully, the ones over eastern Mississippi will hold on.
