Severe Thunderstorm Warning Canceled For Parts Of Tuscaloosa County; Storm Has Weakened a Bit

Strong storms are dropping into the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa areas now.

The storms near Tuscaloosa have weakened a bit and are no longer thought to be severe. Lightning has diminished as has the hail potential.  Winds could still be gusty and there is lots of torrential rain.

The storms will pass just north of Northport and Tuscaloosa.

The storms near Hayden in northern Jefferson County have lots of lightning though.

CANCELLED…
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore the warning has been cancelled. Gusty winds to around 40
MPH remain possible.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until midnight CST for
Alabama.
