The Alabama Weather Situation At 3:50AM

The warm front continues to race to the north through the southern parts of Central Alabama, and along that front, thunderstorms have developed and a few have been strong to severe in natures. The broken line of storms has reach as far north as Forkland and Greensboro, over to Tuskegee and Phenix City.

Two severe thunderstorm warnings are currently in effect for parts of Hale and Perry counties, along with Russell County, both until 4:15AM. So far, reports out of these storms have been for large hail, with one being 2.50 inches (tennis ball size) in the community of Clayton in Barbour County.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been extended northward to include Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, St. Clair, Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, Randolph, Talladega, and Shelby counties until 8:00AM.
