Rain Exiting, Gradual Clearing Sky, Colder

| October 28, 2017 @ 3:41 pm

The final bit of rain this afternoon is sliding down into the extreme southeast Alabama and our sky is gradually clearing from west to east, as the drier and much colder air is settling into the state. Our winds are from the northwest, and temperatures are in the upper 40s and lower 50s for much of Alabama this afternoon. It is certainly feeling more like winter verses a fall today.

FOR TONIGHT: The sky will continue to clear overnight and temperatures will plunge into the 30s for most everyone. It will be cold night and some patchy frost is expected as temperatures will range from 33-39 degrees across the area as we can see the forecast model data output below for 7AM tomorrow. Winds will remain up above 5 mph tonight, so that should prevent a widespread frost, but still it will be cold.

TOMORROW: The sky will be mainly sunny with only a few upper-level wispy cirrus clouds expected. It will remain unseasonably cold tomorrow with highs in the mid 50s for most of Central Alabama, which is over ten degrees below average.
