A Brief Check On Our Weather at 10:40 AM

| December 23, 2017 @ 10:41 am

RADAR CHECK AS OF 10:33 AM
The line of showers and thunderstorms continue to push eastward through Central Alabama at this point on your Saturday morning, but the good news is that conditions are improving even out ahead of the line.

The Storm Prediction Center has removed any severe storm risks for the remainder of the day. Even with that being said, winds will be a little gusty along and ahead of the line, reaching up to 25 to 30 MPH at times. There may be a storm or two within the line that may become strong, but the risk of severe storm formation has now diminished.

Rain activity will be ending in the Birmingham Metropolitan Area very shortly, and should be mainly dry for the big football game out at Legion Field, as Texas Tech takes on South Florida in The Birmingham Bowl. Kickoff is at 11:00 AM. Temperatures will be dropping throughout the game, starting off around 60 degrees and dropping to the mid-50s by the final whistle. It will be quite breezy at times out there as well, so be sure to bundle up.
