Our line has definitely weakened a bit in the past few minutes from Gadsden to the south.

Severe thunderstorm warning continues for Jackson and northern DeKalb Counties til 245 pm and much of the rest of DeKalb county til 230 p.m…but this activity is into Cherokee County now or is much weaker.

instability is best from south and east of Birmingham, but the better shear is departing to the north quickly. It is good not to have the two working in tandem.

Still, eastern sections from Fort Payne down to Alabaster, then south to Clanton and points east continue to have a threat for severe weather this afternoon. The tornado watch has been canceled for Bibb, Blount and Jefferson Counties. Anywhere behind the line is safe now.

The tornado watch continues until 5 for Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega and Tallapoosa Counties.
