The good news is that we are expecting a very nice warm-up today; the high will be in the mid 70s with sunshine in full supply.

REST OF THE WEEK: Tomorrow will be warmer with a high between 77 and 80 degrees; the sky will be partly sunny. A cold front will pass through tomorrow night, but moisture is extremely limited and we will mention only a small risk of a shower; most communities will be dry. Then, Thursday and Friday will be dry and cooler. The sky will be sunny both days with highs generally in the upper 60s. Friday morning will be another cold one for April; most places will see a low near 40, but colder pockets will once again head for the 30s with a risk of scattered light frost.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be a very nice spring day with a good supply of sunshine along with a high in the 70s, but clouds return Saturday night, and rain should reach the state by Sunday afternoon. Rain will be widespread by Sunday night as a surface low moves across South Alabama. The good news is that there seems to be no risk of severe thunderstorms; in fact we probably won’t hear much thunder. The high Sunday will be in the 67-70 degree range.

NEXT WEEK: We will maintain the chance of mostly light rain at times on Monday, and possibly into part of the day Tuesday as an upper trough hangs around the Southeast U.S…. highs will be in the 60s. The latter half of the week looks dry and pleasant with sunny days and highs in the 70s. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
