Another Summer-Like Midday Across Central Alabama

| May 11, 2018 @ 12:18 pm

Bright sunshine and very warm temperature will be the main weather story across Central Alabama with very little wind or clouds to help bring any relief. There are only a few cumulus clouds starting to pop up across the area, but don’t expect too much help with shade from those. Temperatures at this point are running in the mid to upper 80s throughout the area, with Eufaula topping the list at 89 degrees. Birmingham was at 86 degrees at 12:15 PM.

For The Rest Of Your Friday
We’ll continue to have mostly sunny skies with hot conditions across Central Alabama throughout the remainder of the afternoon hours. We may have a few thunderstorms move through the northeastern corner of the area similar to what we had on Thursday, but the remainder of the area will remain dry. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s to the lower 90s. We’ll have mostly clear skies for the late night through the overnight hours, and lows will only dip down into the lower to mid 60s.

A Hot Weekend Ahead For Central Alabama
It will be the hottest weekend of the year by far as we look to stay mainly sunny and dry across Central Alabama. It will be very difficult to find a shower on the radar this weekend but the rain chances are not zero. The odds for any one place will be around 1-in-10, but nearly all of the area will not see a drop. Highs on both days will reach the lower 90s with a few extreme southern locations possible hitting the mid-90s. Lows on both nights will be in the 60s.
