A 4:30 pm Look at Alabama Weather

| May 22, 2009 @ 4:40 pm | 2 Replies

A line of heavy showers, along with some thunderstorms, over the north edge of the Florida Panhandle was about ready to cross over into the south row of Alabama counties. All the way from Baldwin County eastward to south of Dothan.

Moving toward the NW.

Further north, another band of showers was from near Butler eastward to about Montgomery and Lafayette. Also moving NW.

Over the north third of the state, only widely spaced showers at this hour.

A 4 pm plot of surface data shows the low pressure area over the NE Gulf of Mexico some 100 miles or more south of Pensacola. The low will track toward the NW toward SE Louisiana over the weekend.

It will continue to pull and pump a lot of moist air into the SE States.
