Three Tornadoes Touched Down On Wednesday Morning

| November 29, 2019 @ 10:55 pm

The previous cold front that brought showers and a few strong thunderstorms earlier this week on Wednesday morning spawned three different brief weak tornadoes in Pike and Barbour counties. This brings the official count of tornado touchdowns to 67 for the year.

Troy Street (Pike Co.): EF-0 with estimated peak wind at 70 MPH. Stayed on the ground for 65 yards causing roof damage, uprooted several trees, and caused a mobile home to be shifted off of its supports.

Foulk Creek (Barbour Co.): EF-0 with estimated peak wind at 60 MPH. The damage path was inaccessible to the survey team and intensity was estimated using velocity strength and tornadic debris signature height on the radar.

Baxter Station Road (Barbour Co.): EF-0 with estimated peak wind at 65 MPH. Stayed on the ground for 55 yards only causing minor tree damage.
