Areal Flood Warning: Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, & Lawrence Counties Until 9:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…
Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 900 PM CST.

* At 559 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rain over parts of northwestern Alabama.
The rain is causing flooding. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have
already fallen over parts of the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia,
Moulton, Red Bay, Rogersville, Phil Campbell and Killen.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible across
parts of northwest Alabama in the early evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
