Nice & Warm Today & Monday, Storms Back In The Forecast By Tuesday

| April 5, 2020 @ 5:00 am

GOOD BIT OF SUNSHINE TO END OFF THE WEEKEND
After the chance of a lingering shower or two dissipates for the southern parts of the area this morning, the entire area will enjoy a dry and warm day across Central Alabama. Clouds will give way to mainly sunny skies by the late morning hours and afternoon highs look to top out in the lower to mid-80s.

ANOTHER DRY & WARM DAY ON MONDAY
Monday looks to be a mainly dry and decent day across Central Alabama. Skies will be mostly sunny during the morning and into the early afternoon hours, but clouds will increase during the late afternoon and through the remainder of the day. While rain is not likely, a stray shower or two can’t be completely ruled out. Highs will be in the lower to mid-80s.

CHANCE OF RAIN & THUNDERSTORMS START EARLY ON TUESDAY
A decent impulse will move through the area starting early on Tuesday that will bring a decent chance of rain and thunderstorms, especially over the northern parts of the area and up into North Alabama during the afternoon, and more rain and a few storms forming and moving across the rest of the area during the evening and late-night hours. I can’t rule out a strong storm or two with gusty winds as the impulse will bring some instability with it. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-70s to the lower 80s.

ANOTHER SHOT OF RAIN AND STORMS ON WEDNESDAY
A weaker impulse is expected to move through the area on Wednesday which will bring another chance of showers and thunderstorms. With the lack of forcing and less energy associated with this impulse, severe weather is not expected at this time. Afternoon highs look to make it into the lower to mid-80s.

COLD FRONT BRINGS ANOTHER GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN AND STORMS ON THURSDAY
A cold front will move across Central Alabama on Thursday that will bring another decent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The good news is that the better dynamics will be well to far off to the north and severe storms are not expected. Afternoon highs top out in the mid-70s to the mid-80s.

COOLER WITH DECREASING RAIN CHANCES ON FRIDAY
There will be a chance of showers early on Friday as the cold front moves out of Central Alabama, but another impulse may bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the extreme southern portions of the area and South Alabama during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the lower 60s to the lower 70s across the area.

A DECENT CENTRAL ALABAMA WEEKEND
Next weekend looks to be dry with overall nice and cooler weather. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear on Saturday with highs in the mid-60s to the lower 70s. Sunday will feature more clouds and temperatures topping out a little warmer in the 70s across the area.
