EXPIRED – Flash Flood Warning For Chambers, Tallapoosa Counties Until 6:15 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Tallapoosa County in east central Alabama…
Chambers County in east central Alabama…

* Until 615 PM CDT.

* At 317 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
three inches of rain have already fallen in the past 6 hours.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Alexander City, Valley, Lanett, Dadeville, Camp Hill, Stroud,
Lafayette, La Fayette, Jacksons’ Gap, New Site, Goldville,
Hillabee Creek, and Fairfax.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
