EXPIRED – Flood Warning for Autauga, Lee, Elmore, Macon, Tallapoosa Counties Until 10:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in…
Autauga County in central Alabama…
Lee County in east central Alabama…
Elmore County in east central Alabama…
Northern Macon County in southeastern Alabama…
Southeastern Tallapoosa County in east central Alabama…

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 657 PM CDT, thunderstorms will continue to move across the
warned area this evening. Automated stream gauges are showing an
increasing threat due to the persistent rainfall. Some flooding is
expected across the warned area through the evening as total
rainfall amounts may exceed 5 inches in some locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
