A Stormy Morning In North Alabama

| May 22, 2020 @ 9:11 am

At 9:00 am, we have a cluster of storms moving through North Alabama that is stretching from Long Island and Bridgeport in Jackson County back to the southwest as far back as Falkville in Morgan County.

Plenty of lightning, some gusty winds, and very heavy rainfall can be expected with this cluster as it continues to move to the east at roughly 45 MPH.

Locations in the path include Eva, Arab, Guntersville, Geraldine, Fort Payne, Sylvania, Henagar, Ider, Valley Head, Blanche, and possibly reaching as far south at Albertville and Collinsville.

The good news is that the cluster seems to be on a weakening trend, so the likelihood of any part of it becoming severe is very low, but we’ll still need to watch for downburst winds that could reach severe criteria.
