Early Morning Update…Showers Developing

| June 23, 2020 @ 2:38 am

The radar is getting active again early this morning as we are seeing numerous showers developing across portions of North and West Alabama. There could be a few flashes of lightning and some rumbles of thunder mixed in as well this morning, but most locations are just reporting rain.

Rainfall will be heavy at times and this will just be one of many rounds of rain and storms we are expecting today. Once the sun comes up and daytime heating starts, we are likely to see more showers and storms develop, and like we saw yesterday, some of the storms will pack a punch and could be strong and locally severe.

Again today, nearly all of Alabama is under a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) for severe storms today as some of the stronger storms will be capable of producing gusty winds and small hail.
