Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Parts of Northwest and West Central Alabama Until 4 a.m.

The SPC has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a large part of Northwest and West Central Alabama until 4 a.m.

Storms over eastern Mississippi will be moving into western Alabama within the hour. Several of them are severe with large hail and the threat of damaging winds.

There have been reports of scattered wind damage in the wake of these storms, including over parts of Chickasaw County Mississippi, west of Amory where trees were reported down on houses.

More reports of flooding are coming in from parts of Northeast Mississippi as well. 8 inches of rain has fallen near Sherman in Pontotoc County.
