Alabama Newscenter — Viral ‘MC Hammer’ Principal Quentin Lee Named Superintendent of Talladega City Schools

Childersburg High School Principal Quentin Lee will be the next superintendent of the Talladega City School System.

The school board spent the past week interviewing eight finalists for the job, then unanimously selected Lee to follow former Superintendent Tony Ball.

Lee garnered national attention last year after creating a viral YouTube video encouraging students at Childersburg High to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols. The video parodied the MC Hammer hit “U Can’t Touch This” from the 1990s and was viewed more than 182,000 times in four days and more than 5.8 million times in three weeks, leading to news interviews with national and international media, including CNN, NBC and HLN.
