Winter Storm Warning Expanded to Include Madison and Marshall Counties

| January 16, 2022 @ 10:32 am

From Andy Kula at the NWS Huntsville:

Quick update… We will be adding Marshall and Madison Counties to the Winter Storm Warning. This is mainly for northern and eastern sections of Madison County and the higher elevations in Marshall County. We have gone back to rain here at NSSTC/UAH. But the higher elevations are likely still snow. There is a band of heavier precip in northern Madison, all of Jackson and nortehrn Marshall and most of DeKalb. This will persist through midday. Another band will arrive later this afternoon as the low pressure system starts to pull northeast. This will lead to one more band of snow this afternoon. This evening, most if not all of the precipitation will exit, but temperatures will fall quickly below freezing for all areas which will lead to some refreezing of existing slushy/snowy/wet roads tonight.
