Dry Days; A Warming Trend Ahead

| February 8, 2022 @ 5:25 am

COLD START: Temperatures are in the 24-32 degree range across the northern half of the state early this morning, with mid 30s down to Mobile. Expect a sun filled sky today with a high in the mid to upper 50s… the average high for Birmingham on February 8 is 58.

Dry weather continues through Friday with a warming trend… look for a high in the low 60s tomorrow, followed by mid 60s Thursday and Friday with sunny days and fair nights.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will feature a partly sunny day with a high in the 56-63 degree range. A cold front will pass through Saturday night with an increase in clouds, but moisture will be very limited and it still looks like it won’t produce any meaningful precipitation. Maybe a sprinkle or flurry, but nothing more. Sunday will be a sharply colder day with a clearing sky; the high will drop into the 40-45 degree range across North/Central Alabama with a brisk north wind.

NEXT WEEK: Monday morning will be a cold with a low well down in the 20s… then we warm into the low 50s Monday afternoon with a good supply of sunshine. Dry weather continues Tuesday and Wednesday with a warming trend; temperatures will be close to 60 degrees by Wednesday afternoon. Rain will likely return by Thursday ahead of the next cold front… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
