Tropical Storm Force Gusts in the Keys; North Florida, Southern Georgia and South Carolina Will Have Significant Winds, Surge as Well

| August 29, 2023 @ 10:44 am

Winds recently gusted to 39 mph at the NWS Key West and 41 mph at the Naval Air Station.

Winds just gusted to 61 mph on Sand Key.

Here is the presentation from the Key West radar which clearly shows the eye. The eye is not showing up on satellite yet.

The center of the hurricane is 200 miles west of Key West.

There is just enough ridging to the east of the hurricane to keep it on this slightly east of north path at an accelerating pace today and tonight before landfall early Wednesday.

We want our friends in northern Florida, southern Georgia, and coastal sections of Georgia and South Carolina who will receive strong winds with near hurricane force winds well inland and hurricane gusts in places like Savannah and Charleston and all along those coasts.
