Sunday Afternoon Alabama Update

| September 3, 2023 @ 3:34 pm

Skies are mostly sunny to partly cloudy across North and Central Alabama this afternoon. Temperatures are in the upper 80s for the most part across the area. Birmingham and Montgomery have hit 90F.

There is a clear delineation of cloud free skies over areas north and east of Birmingham, as high pressure centered over Northeast Georgia is rotating drier air into that part of Alabama.

As expected, a few showers are showing up across South Central and West Central Alabama, mainly across parts of Bibb, Perry, Clanton, Autauga, Dallas, Marengo, and Wilcox counties. They are not amounting to much.

There could be a couple of light showers through the overnight hours with lows in the middle and upper 60s to near 70F.

Monday will be a warm, and partly cloudy day, with highs in the upper 80s North to near 90F elsewhere. A few showers and storms will show up in the afternoon, with the potential for some patches of rain overnight into early Tuesday as the high begins to weaken and a southerly flow redevelops across much of the area.
