The radar is very active tonight with freezing rain in sleet from North Alabama back across much of Central Mississippi.

The activity to our west will continue and intensify tonight as an upper level disturbance pushes in from the west.

Temperatures are down to 32 F at Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Demopolis is at 31F. Pell City is 39, Anniston at 41F. Cullman is at 19F. Huntsville Airport if 19F. Florence is 18F.

…Our friend Richard Scott at WVUA reports moderate sleet falling in Fayette at 8:08 pm.

…DeKalb County EMA reports 29 degrees with heavy sleet and snow around Fyffe, Lakeview, and Geraldine. Roads are heavily saturated but not icy yet. Won’t be long.

…Danielle Dozier reporting 1″ of snow and sleet in Northeast Huntsville.

…Tyler Plott reports 1/2 inch of sleet with roads solid sheet of ice in Mountain Gap area of South Huntsville.

…Stephen McCloud had a report of 6″ of sleet in Madison west of Huntsville.

…Marshall County EMA reports roads in their county are beginning to deteriorate due to icing.
