Tornado Warning — NW Madison & NE Limestone Counties Until 6:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville, Alabama has issued a Tornado Warning for Northwestern Madison County and Northeastern Limestone County in north-central Alabama, as well as Southwestern Lincoln County in Middle Tennessee until 6:30 PM CDT. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Athens, moving northeast at 40 mph. The hazard includes flying debris that is dangerous to those without shelter, potential damage to mobile homes, roofs, windows, vehicles, and likely tree damage.

This storm will affect areas like Athens around 6:00 PM CDT, Harvest around 6:05 PM CDT, and Hazel Green around 6:25 PM CDT. Other locations impacted include Blanche, Capshaw, French Mill, Taft, Toney, and Elkwood.

Take immediate cover now! Move to a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, avoid windows, and protect yourself from flying debris. If outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, seek the closest substantial shelter. Stay safe and heed all warnings!
