Strong Storms Moving Through North Alabama

As expected, strong storms are moving through North Alabama this morning. Some of them are severe.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Madison, Jackson, Marshall, and DeKalb counties until 7 a.m. Hail of less than 1″ and 60 mph winds are possible.

The strongest storms are moving through eastern Madison County now, east of Huntsville.

Additional storms cover eastern Cullman and parts of Blount County. Not severe, but loud with thunder, heavy rain, and gusty winds. These storms will affect Albertville, Guntersville, and Ashville down to Springville.

There is an isolated cell near Warrior in Jefferson County. And others are forming in western Jefferson County northwest of Birmingham.

Additional storms may form over West Central Alabama in the next hour or two, moving across Central Alabama between then and 11 a.m. They will get stronger as they go and could become severe, affecting areas from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Anniston.
