An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

DRY THROUGH FRIDAY: A gradual warming trend headlines our forecast through Friday. Keep in mind the average high for today is 59 degrees; we haven’t really been close to that figure all month. Today the sky will become partly sunny after early morning clouds, and the high should be in the mid 40s. We will be close to 50 tomorrow, followed by mid 50s on Friday with a good supply of sunshine both days.

OUR WEEKEND: We will mention just a chance of widely scattered showers on Saturday with a weak impulse, but moisture and dynamics will be very limited, and the rain won’t be widespread at all. Sunday looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds. The high both days should be in the mid to upper 50s.

NEXT WEEK AND INTO VOODOO COUNTRY: Global models are converging on the idea of our next good rain event early next week on Monday. Still, no consistency on details. Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see the GEM shows the surface low north of Alabama with a hint of thunderstorms, while the GFS and the ECMWF have the low south of here with just periods of rain. Colder air follows the rain for the middle of next week. Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you can see how the door is open for more winter weather mischief for somebody across the southern U.S. before the month is over.

STORM ALERT 2010 COMES TO MOUNDVILLE TOMORROW NIGHT: Our annual severe weather rolls along; our next stop will be tomorrow night at Hale County High School in Moundville. You can meet the ABC 33/40 Weather team, see some amazing Alabama weather stories, learn how to keep your family safe this tornado season, and win some cool stuff. The show begins at 7:00; be sure and get there early to get a good seat. See the entire tour schedule here!

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

I will be doing a weather program today at Oak Mountain Elementary… look for the next Weather Xtreme video here by 3:30 or so this afternoon. Enjoy the day!
