Texas Snow

A nice little snow storm is unfolding across parts of Texas… some reports from Twitter:

*Snow beginning to accumulate downtown Tyler. 1/2 mile vis in Jacksonville w/heavy snow.

*It’s snowing in Austin and all the locals are freaking out about the snow that isn’t even staying on the ground

*1.25 in Corsicana, TX

*5 inches in Baird, TX

*4.5 inches on the ground at KTXS TV in Abliene, TX

*2.5 inches on the ground at Palestine, TX

*4 inches at the NWS office in San Angelo, TX

*While the snow has been light around the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, there has been an inch or so of snow in southern Dallas County in Duncanville, DeSoto and those areas. The heavier snow showers will be south of Dallas and Fort Worth. The snow has been coming down pretty heavy in Killeen. In those areas south of Dallas, they could see anywhere between three to maybe even five inches of snow. – WFAA meteorologist Greg Fields

WHAT ABOUT ALABAMA? We won’t be changing our forecast; the new 12Z NAM is printing only 0.03″ here during the next 24 hours; we will have some risk of a little spotty light rain tonight, and a few snow flurries tomorrow morning. Most likely, nothing significant.

A full discussion and new Weather Xtreme video will be posted by 3:00 or so. Stay tuned…
