Late Afternoon Radar Update: Snow Continues Over South Alabama

| January 21, 2025 @ 4:17 pm

As of 4:10pm, snow, some of which is heavy, continues over the southern quarter of Alabama. While there may be some flurries over central portions of the state, the air is very dry, so the bulk of the snow is staying over the southern portion of the state. Moderate to at times heavy snow will continue late this afternoon and into the evening before ending later tonight from southwest to northeast.

Travel has become very hazardous over southern portions of the state where there remains a winter storm warning. Per ALDOT, many roads are snow or ice covered and some have been reported as impassible. Please avoid travel if possible, but if its an emergency, use extreme caution and be sure to have an emergency kit in your vehicle incase you wind up stranded.
