Evening Snow Update: Record Breaking Snowfall In Mobile!

| January 21, 2025 @ 6:01 pm

As of just before 6pm, moderate to heavy snow continues across southern and southeastern Alabama this evening, resulting in hazardous travel, reduced visibility, and significant accumulations in some areas. The snow will continue this evening, slowly exiting from west to east later tonight. Record breaking snowfall has occured in Mobile, with significant accumulations elsewhere as well. Here are a few examples:

Mobile: 6.5″

Mckenzie: 6″

Clay City: 8″

Malbis: 7″

Parkmanville: 3.5″

Ramer: 4.5″

Troy Sportsplex: 5.5″

This truly is a storm for the record books not only in Alabama, but also parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and even northern Florida! Some areas in FL and LA have seen close to 1 foot of snow (I have seen a few reports of as much as 10-11″ so far). Simply amazing from a meteorological standpoint.
