Tornado Watch Issued West Of Alabama As Storms Approach Western Mississippi

| March 4, 2025 @ 12:30 pm

The storm prediction center just issued a tornado watch for areas to the west of Alabama in effect until 7pm this evening. This watch does butt right up against the central and southern portions of the Alabama/Mississippi state line, and we expect this watch to be expanded into Alabama later this afternoon or early evening.

The SPC notes that a few tornadoes are likely, along with isolated hail as large as quarters and scattered wind gusts up to 80mph as well. Given the extreme wind fields with this system, we encourage you to treat severe thunderstorm warnings as you would a tornado warning.
