Just Before High Noon in Alabama

| March 22, 2010 @ 11:56 am | 1 Reply

The North Alabama precipitation has shifted more to the east. At 11:55 am, very little over the NW and West counties. Most of the radar return is along a north-south line from Huntsville to Birmingham and east to the Georgia border. Moving east.

* Malinda, in Eva (Morgan County) reported 33 degrees lots of “huge flakes” within the last hour and the ground was covered in less than one hour.

* Snow coming down nicely 1/2 way up Simmons Mountain in the Springville area.

Our next post will be more detailed and will include some noon spot reports.

Here in NE Trussville, the temperature has dropped from 39 to 38 during the last hour but still only light rain.

It is likely that the ground is becoming completely white on some of the NE Alabama highlands and ridges.
