Late Morning in Alabama–10:30 Report

Vast blanket of low clouds and fog covered much of North and Central Alabama all morning.

However, sunshine is slowly winning the epic battle.

I was at St. Vincents, East for an hour or so this morning, one of the highest elevations in the Greater Birmingham area. Visibility was only about 1/8th mile at times because the area was in the low hanging clouds.

At 10:30, the sun had won out over such West Alabama locations as Pickens, Greene, Hale, Sumter, Perry and Bibb County and almost all of Tuscaloosa County.

Visible satellite loop shows the extensive low cloud and fog bank still hanging on over much of the rest of North Alabama was eroding from the SW.

Temperatures were still in the chilly mid to upper 40s where the sun was not shinning but in the 50s and even some low 60s down south.

High priority is to get this fog and low clouds out of here so we can soot for our forecast high of 68 for today.
