Severe Storm With Large Hail Threatening Franklin, Colbert, and Lawrence Counties

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 12:15 PM for south central Colbert, eastern Franklin, and west central Lawrence counties. At 11:39 AM, radar indicated a dangerous storm near Hackleburg moving northeast at 20 mph. This storm is capable of producing ping pong ball size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Damage to vehicles, roofs, windows, siding, and trees is possible, especially in areas like Russellville, Hodges, Spruce Pine, Littleville, and La Grange. Continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with this storm—seek shelter in an interior room immediately and stay away from windows.
