Severe T-Storm Warning for Greene, Sumter Co. Until 5:30PM

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southern Greene County and southern Sumter County in west central Alabama. This warning will remain in effect until 5:30 PM.

As of 4:32 PM, radar shows severe thunderstorms along a line extending from Epes to Kewanee, moving northeast at about 20 miles per hour. These storms are producing 60 mile per hour wind gusts and quarter-size hail, which could cause damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.

If you’re in or near places like York, Livingston, Sumterville, Boyd, Eutaw Municipal Airport, Bluffport, or The University of West Alabama, be sure to take shelter. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or building.
