Severe T-Storm Warning for Cullman, Marshall Co. Until 6PM
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Marshall County and northeastern Cullman County in north Alabama, in effect until 6:00 PM.
At 5:10 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Holly Pond, which is about 7 miles north of Blountsville, and was moving east at 45 miles per hour. Trained weather spotters have reported golf ball size hail near Guntersville, and the storm is also packing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour. This combination can lead to damage to vehicles, windows, siding, and roofs, and can be dangerous to anyone caught outdoors.
Communities in the path of this storm include High Point, Baileyton, Horton, Guntersville, Arab, Douglas, Eddy, Joppa, Union Grove, and surrounding areas. If you’re in any of these locations, you need to take shelter now in a sturdy building. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor and stay away from windows.
This is a dangerous storm with large hail and strong winds—stay alert and stay safe.
