Flash Flood Warning for Cullman, Morgan Co. Until 8:30PM

| May 2, 2025 @ 5:22 pm

A flash flood warning is now in effect for northwestern Cullman County and southwestern Morgan County in north Alabama until 8:30 PM.

At 5:19 PM, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms dropping very heavy rain over the area. An estimated three to four inches of rain has fallen over the past few hours, and flash flooding is either already underway or about to begin. This kind of rainfall can quickly overwhelm small creeks, streams, roadways, and low-lying areas.

This warning includes places like Falkville, Baldwin, West Point, Jones Chapel, Battleground, Logan, Lacon, and Crane Hill. Emergency Management has also reported a rock slide along portions of Hurricane Creek near U.S. Highway 31 in northern Cullman County, which could make flooding conditions worse in that area.

Remember, if you come across flooded roads, do not attempt to drive through. Most flood-related deaths happen in vehicles. Turn around—don’t drown. If you’re in the warned area, get to higher ground and stay alert for rapidly rising water.
