Severe Threat Ends in Alabama; Dense Fog Advisory Issued Overnight
The severe weather threat has officially ended across Alabama. The National Weather Service has cancelled Severe Thunderstorm Watch #221, and no warnings or advisories remain in effect for strong or severe storms. Most of the activity has moved into Georgia, and Alabama will enjoy a quiet overnight period.
However, a Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for all of northern Alabama and portions of southern middle Tennessee, including areas such as Huntsville, Decatur, Florence, Fort Payne, Cullman, and the Tennessee communities of Fayetteville, Winchester, and Lynchburg. Visibility could fall below one-quarter mile at times through 9 AM CDT Sunday, making travel hazardous, especially in rural or low-lying areas.
Drivers should reduce speed, use low beams, and allow extra distance between vehicles during the morning hours. Fog should begin to dissipate after sunrise.chttps://www.alabamawx.com/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=278232&type=image&TB_iframe=1
