The National Weather Service in Birmingham has updated the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Central Alabama. The watch has been canceled for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston counties. However, the watch remains in effect until 10:00 AM for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, Jefferson, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa counties. All counties in North Alabama have been removed from the watch.

If you are in one of the counties still under the watch, stay alert for changing weather conditions, and be prepared to take action if severe weather approaches.
