Kimberly L. Jackson, an Alabama Power executive, has been named president and CEO of the Women’s Foundation of Alabama (WFA) effective June 16. Jackson replaces Melanie R. Bridgeforth, who stepped down in February.

WFA is the state’s leading voice and philanthropic engine for women’s economic advancement and has become a statewide force leveraging research, public policy and strategic grantmaking to build and sustain women’s issues.

Jackson most recently served as Government and Community Relations manager for the Birmingham Division of Alabama Power, where she led civic and community partnerships across Jefferson, Shelby and St. Clair counties.
