Severe Thunderstorm Warning for South Central Limestone, Northwestern Morgan, and Southeastern Lawrence Counties Until 7:00 PM CDT

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for south central Limestone County, northwestern Morgan County, and southeastern Lawrence County in north Alabama, effective until 7:00 PM CDT.

At 6:32 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of Trinity, or 9 miles east of Moulton, moving northeast at 35 miles per hour. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and quarter size hail. Radar has indicated the potential severity of this storm.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected, along with wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations that could be affected include Decatur, Priceville, Hartselle, Speake, Neel, Basham, Somerville, Trinity, and portions of the Bankhead National Forest.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 10:00 PM CDT for much of north central, northeastern, and northwestern Alabama.
