Tornado Warning for Jackson and Northeastern DeKalb Counties in Alabama and Southeastern Franklin County in Tennessee Until 8:00 PM CDT

A dangerous storm capable of producing a tornado is moving through parts of northeastern Alabama and southeastern Tennessee this evening. At 7:21 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Skyline in Jackson County, about 10 miles northwest of Scottsboro, moving northeast at 40 miles per hour.

This tornado is capable of causing serious damage. Flying debris can be life-threatening. Mobile homes may be destroyed, and roofs, windows, and vehicles could be damaged. Trees are also likely to be brought down.

Areas in the path of this storm include Skyline around 7:25 PM, Stevenson around 7:40 PM, and Bridgeport around 7:55 PM. Other locations that could be affected include Bass, Martintown, Princeton, Lim Rock, Jericho, Russell Cave National Monument, Estillfork, Fackler, Hytop, and Anderson.

A tornado is on the ground. If you’re in the warning area, take shelter immediately. Go to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows. If you’re outside, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, get to the nearest safe shelter right away and protect yourself from flying debris.
