A strong storm capable of producing damaging winds and hail is moving through portions of north central Alabama this evening. At 7:27 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Decatur and is tracking east at 45 miles per hour.

This storm may bring wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and quarter-size hail. These conditions can damage vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.

Communities in the path of the storm include Decatur, Madison, Triana, Belle Mina, French Mill, Mooresville, Laceys Spring, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Redstone Arsenal, and the Marshall Space Flight Center.
