Tornado Warning for Southern Madison, Northwestern Marshall, East Central Morgan, and West Central Jackson Counties Until 8:00 PM CDT
A dangerous storm with the potential to produce a tornado is moving across parts of north central and northeastern Alabama this evening. At 7:30 PM CDT, a thunderstorm showing strong rotation was located near Morgan City or close to Redstone Arsenal, moving east at 30 miles per hour.
This storm could quickly produce a tornado. If one forms, it could cause significant damage. Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone without shelter. Mobile homes may be destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows, vehicles, and trees is likely.
Huntsville and Owens Cross Roads are expected to be impacted around 7:35 PM. Other locations in the path include Paint Rock, Laceys Spring, Farley, Garth, Hampton Cove, Whitesburg, and Brownsboro.
If you are in the warning area, take shelter immediately. Move to a basement or the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows. If you’re outside, in a vehicle, or in a mobile home, move quickly to the nearest shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
