Tornadoes, Damaging Winds, & Large Hail Threat Continues for Several More Hours

| May 20, 2025 @ 8:20 pm

The threat for tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail continues across northern Alabama tonight. The environment is supportive of supercells capable of producing strong tornadoes as well as damaging winds and large hail. Radar shows a mix of supercells and line segments moving through the area, with instability and wind shear favorable for severe storms.

Residents should remain alert for rapidly changing conditions and be prepared to take shelter immediately if warnings are issued. The severe threat may decrease later tonight as instability weakens, but significant storms remain possible through the early morning hours.
