Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Marengo, South Central Greene, and Southeastern Sumter Counties Until 6:30 PM CDT

At 5:50 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located near Dug Hill, about 7 miles west of Demopolis, moving east at 15 mph. This storm is producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.

Locations in the path of this storm include Demopolis, Dug Hill, the intersection of U.S. 80 and AL 28, Belmont, Birdine, Demopolis Lock and Dam, McDowell, and the Demopolis Municipal Airport.

This storm is capable of causing damage to roofs, siding, trees, and vehicles. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats.

If you are in the warned area, take shelter now in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows and avoid being outdoors until the storm passes.
