Tornado Warning Issued for Northern Jackson and DeKalb Counties in Alabama, and Southeastern Franklin County, TN

A Tornado Warning is now in effect until 5:15 PM CDT for parts of northeastern Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee. At 4:24 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles north of Skyline, or 17 miles south of Winchester, moving east at 35 mph.

This warning includes:
…Northern Jackson County, AL
…Northeastern DeKalb County, AL
…Southeastern Franklin County, TN

The storm is expected to impact Stevenson around 4:40 PM and Bridgeport around 4:55 PM. Other areas in the path include Bass, Jericho, Long Island, Russell Cave National Monument, Estillfork, Higdon, and Hytop.

Take shelter immediately in a sturdy building, away from windows, and on the lowest floor. Mobile homes and vehicles are unsafe during a tornado—seek alternate shelter now.
