Watch Area Reduced as Storms Push Eastward This Evening
The severe weather threat is winding down for many areas this evening. The National Weather Service has canceled Severe Thunderstorm Watch 332 for five Alabama counties as storms weaken and shift eastward.
From NWS Birmingham:
Autauga, Chilton, and Lowndes counties are no longer under the watch.
From NWS Mobile:
Butler and Crenshaw counties have also been cleared.
The watch remains in effect until 10 PM CDT for 11 counties: Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Russell, and Tallapoosa. This includes the cities of Montgomery, Auburn, Phenix City, Alexander City, and Troy.
While the overall storm intensity has diminished, a few strong storms remain possible in the active watch area. Stay weather aware this evening in case new warnings are issued.
