Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Parts of Central and East Alabama Until 7 PM CDT

The National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch 347, in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening, for the following counties in Alabama:

Bullock, Chambers, Clay, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Randolph, Russell, and Tallapoosa.

This includes the cities of Alexander City, Ashland, Auburn, Lanett, Lineville, Millbrook, Montgomery, Opelika, Phenix City, Roanoke, Rockford, Tuskegee, Union Springs, Valley, and Wetumpka.

Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail. Stay weather aware, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued for your location.
