Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Eastern Jefferson, Shelby, and St. Clair Counties Until 5:45 PM

A line of severe thunderstorms is moving east across central Alabama this afternoon, prompting a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Shelby, east central Jefferson, and central St. Clair counties until 5:45 PM CDT.

Radar indicates storms capable of producing quarter-size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

At 5:06 PM, the line stretched from near Argo to Logan Martin Dam, moving east at 20 mph.

Communities including Trussville, Leeds, Pell City, Springville, and Vincent are in the path. Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to trees and structures are possible.

Take shelter indoors away from windows.
